Why develop an app that promises to reserve a movie and then just rent out to somebody else thats at the box? Ill explain: If the movie that I am trying to rent is in my cart then wouldnt that movie be unavailable to rent to someone else but me, since I am in fact RESERVING? Ill elaborate: I know that its only $1.50 per movie so maybe I need to calm down and maybe its not that big of a deal but if Im being led to the expectation that Im going to be able to rent, by RESERVING, this movie through the app because its a feature that you as a company offers, and then as soon as the transaction is finalized and Redbox collects their payment I get a notification saying the movie is no longer available at that kiosk! Then we start having an issue. Smh Redbox! Yall need to get it together!
Crazy they are insane??? and with DVDs on the down slide and quickly being replaced you would think REDBOX would pull this BS put the app back to the version that allows her location services only one using the app and start resetting the reviews REDBOX I was hung up on the phone three times this morning from them they dont want to hear it I fear for the employees
Shows up to date, but when "open" is selected, will not open, just tells you that you MUST update. Terrible user experience! Are you trying to go out of business? Keep this up and you will lose all your customers!
Really crappy app which crashes and freezes the iPhone.
Ive used this app for over a year and sent 2 hr on the phone with red box and they could not fix the problem. I keep getting the same message email or password is wrong. Ive reset the password 5 times. They did me me a free movie rental but they only way I can use it is on my mac.
They should seriously consider how much business this bad application costs them. Horrendous!

A good app but annoying that location services choices are either always on or never on. Should consider adding "on while using" option so app doesnt drain phone battery.
The one issue I have is the app uses your location constantly and drains your battery life. They dont even give you an option to have the location services on "while using the app". You only have two options. "Always" or "Never". Well thanks for such great options...

It is not an accident that this Redbox app is only offering Always On or Off as location services options. Any company the size of Redbox makes this decision to leave out the "Only while using app" option. So the question is why? There are two most likely answers: Either they are 1) looking to eventually mine/monetize the location data of their users (presumably to improve services, but also quite tangibly increasing their valuation as a company), or 2) their developers and product team are incredibly inept and overpaid to have not foreseen this backlash against their terrible UX. In either case, they dont deserve my (or your) business until they stop pretending users are that gullible. Without more thoughtful development of their mobile product, they will dissolve as an entity much quicker than they are already projecting, and if that happens I cant say they didnt bring it on themselves.
Talk about horrible apps. I get no movie detail when I select a movie. Screen only shows the movie cover background. Cant purchase with no movie detail available!
Cant add my credit card information; therefore, cant buy movie rentals. Failure.
Unable to update so just not going to use their services again
I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and it still kept giving me an error message saying "Im sorry something has gone wrong....."
This app always worked flawlessly until 6-8 months ago. Now it never loads. It send push notifications then they will never load and it says sorry. So it keeps saying you have a notification but you cant see it. Then finally after 10+ times of trying it you will get to see the notification and all it will be is telling you about a new release which you could see on your own if their app would load correctly. Im going from 5 stars to 1 star
Is it really that hard to turn off location services, and simply enter your zip code when reserving a movie?
App doesnt work and has not been working for at least 5 days.
RedBox needs to update the app ASAP, so the customers can leave a review.
