REDBOX: Rent, Stream & Buy App Reviews

So instead of a poor experience trying to manage locations, you removed favorite locations altogether. This app is so terrible. And it has ads! Not necessarily ads for movie to rent. No. Generic, spammy clickbait website type ads. Such garbage. RedBox is the only decent way to rent movies anymore without paying ludicrous prices for inferior digital streams, and its ruined by a truly horrible app experience. That keeps getting worse!

I seriously dont get why when we are paying customers why you would run ads in this APP with targeted marketing. This is so low class redbox. I mean we do pay to rent movies from you... and we dont need ads trying to sell us tires, mufflers and what ever else your allowing companies to see us inside your app. I think I am leaving redbox :(. Booooo

Recent update broke the app. When I tap on any movie, it says "Loading Details," but get nothing. No screen follows. Cant view trailer, reserve the movie, anything at all.

I would have rated it higher but not with Ads showing up with a recent update. Not even related to movies. Not Acceptable!

I get a pop up every time asking me about my location, even when Im just selecting my Redbox down the street thats marked as a favorite. Its unintuitive and only slightly more convenient than driving to check the local stock.

After much complaints from numerous members about stalking and "finally" implementing "While using only" selection, thanks for that. Now Im curious why is it Redbox continuos to piss off their customer base. Ads - flashing - annoying!!! You already have our business to rent your dvds however, not so much if being bombarded with ads. Should the very next update (soon!) not remove these adverts then the App gets deleted and account canceled. Pretty straight forward and simple.

I opened the app to rent a movie. I get blasted by blinking flashing lights for ads. I then closed the app and rented nothing. Nobody wants to have to look at ads when theyre renting a movie.

I have liked this app and the features but lately it has become terribly slow to load a title. As enhancement, please include ability to select multiple locations (especially where there are more than 1 box in a location).

App wont work on any iOS that is lower than 9.0. That is not a good business move and just installed the app and wont ever use again. Im on iOS 8.4 and is the most stable app and will not upgrade and you shouldnt force your customers to. Fix your app for iOS 8 users and I will change my star review back to 5 stars.

Started seeing Quicken Loan ads! Really? Couldnt believe my eyes. Redbox must be getting really desperate. This ruins the entire experience of renting on the app!

Up until a few months ago, this app was great, but it hardly ever works now. Im constantly getting an error when I try to open the app and I can hardly ever see my messages. Really disappointed, I used to love using this app.

The app works very well for reserving disks. But woe betide anyone who needs to reset their password. To begin with, the app does not properly display the password requirements, which are easy to miss. And even when you do find them, the app does not except a new password even IF you meet all of the requirements. I got so frustrated I called customer service, who informed me that you should only change the password on the computer. That is not the mark of a successful app. This one needs a major overhaul all. And it makes me inclined not to use Redbox for all the headaches it causes.

Used to be a great app. No longer works. Using an iPhone 7+ running 10.3.

When did they start placing adds in this app. ? So RedBox uses my data to place adds in the app, Im paying them to spam me with adds? Time to remove the app from the phone, use the browser with add blocking in it to rent a movie.

Is there really advertising for other companies in the App now? Deleting this one

I only use your app to rent your movies. Why are you forcing me to stare at Ads when you already make money off me? I want to rent a movie not shop for a home loan. As long as Ads exist I wont be renting from Redbox.

This app use to be great. I loved the convenience of picking out the movie by using my phone instead of standing outside at the box in the rain/hot/cold. For over a month now though, the app wont load any of the kiosk locations near me so that I can reserve a movie and I refuse to go to multiple locations looking for the movie I want so I guess I just wont be using Redbox until this issue is fixed

Ive been getting the "something went wrong; check back later" message too for a couple weeks now - hoping for a good update soon...
