REDBOX: Rent, Stream & Buy App Reviews

I dont understand why the app would need to track my location 24/7, even when the app is closed. If you go into location settings it doesnt even give the option to gather location data only when the app is in use. It drains my battery like crazy. Deleted and will never download again.

No option to only use location services while using the app. I have to manually turn it on and off in settings so the stupid app doesnt kill my battery.

It should at least have the option to use location services only while using.

Change the settings to when using app use location, not set to always only. That is not necessary for this app to function, cmon developers!

Like MANY other reviews I have to ask why does this version only give you the option to have location services always on or off. Dumb. I looked in location settings and there it is wasting my battery charge for no reason. Stupid to make it like this. Stupid to get approved like this. Stupid to not have fixed it by now.

This app requests your location 24/7, which is unacceptable.

Anytime I want to use the app, the location never loads on the screen. I can never rent a movie on the app. Needs to be fixed!!

This is a potential battery drain because it requires location always and not "when using the app". This should be a simple fix but needs to be fixed by developers asap.

The app does not scale correctly on an iPad in 1x or 2x mode. Please make a universal app Add Touch ID to both apps

Big time filter/sort issue, shows older releases in current week when sorted, called the contact us line for support and was told they dont support the app. No one there knows where to send you for app support!!!!!!!!

You cannot turn off background location data so Redbox constantly monitors where you are. What do they do with this information? Sell it? Deleted the app once I found this out.

This app doesnt give the privacy option of "while using" to access location services, so its Always tracking unless you turn it off.

Do the app developers not see these horrible reviews? I dont understand why this is still not fixed. This is about the 5th update in a row without a fix.

**Another Update and still didnt fix location setting.** Took away "While using app" setting. Dont need it always using your location. Still havent restored "While using app" function with latest update. Reviews have been reset through AGAIN!!!

There is no reason for this app to not give the option of only using location when the app is running. The excuse of geofencing for advertisements is ridiculous.

Location services is either always on or off. This will drain your battery and there is no reason for Red Box to track you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Location services should only be on while using the app. I wont rent any movies till this is fixed.

This app works perfect, I cant figure out what all the negative reviews are about. Maybe they are paid for by a competitor?

There is no good reason to not have a location option for only when using app. Always or Never options either make the app not work or chew my battery. There is a third option. Fix it please.

Thanks for partially fixing the wishlist. 1)Movies in available section in wishlist should be able to reserved in one step instead of taking 3-4 steps so bring back the reserve button for available movies in wishlist. 2)Place the wishlist back in the top of main page of app instead of hiding in the sidebar. 3)App should have the option of using location services while using instead of always on.
